FAQs

CAN I POUR IN LAYERS FOR A DEEP POUR?

Yes — you absolutely can pour in layers for a deeper pour 👍

Our deep cast resin allows for very deep pours up to 30cm however, you may still want to pour in layers if you’re embedding objects or you want to add design elements between pours.

How to pour in layers:

  • The first layer should be fully cured or at least firm and no longer soft
  • If fully cured → lightly sand first (120–240 grit).
  • Always wear a respirator when sanding resin.
  • Remove all dust
  • Wipe with isopropyl alcohol (don't use wipes, soapy water etc as this can leave a residue that can create surface defects.
  • When dry and clean, the next layer can be poured.
CAN I USE ONE RESIN & TOP COAT WITH ANOTHER?

Yes —you can use one apex resin for your main pour and a different apex resin as a top coat ✅ For example, you may choose to use an apex resin with a longer working time or thick viscosity for your base, design layer; then top coat with CurePro for a fast curing, extreme gloss finish that won't be affected by temperature changes. Or other combinations that suit your needs. This is not essential, but you absolutely can if you choose to.

The above advice is for using multiple Apex Resins only. We cannot guarantee how different brands of epoxy resin would react when used together with Apex Resin.
